Helene's Bright Dream Garden

$2,400.00

24” x 24” During the last couple years of Mom’s cognitive decline, she often would state “The colors are brighter than they’ve been this year!” This dream garden is filled with some of her favorite colors, flowers and patterns. Rest in Peace, Mom…I hope you are surrounded by a beautiful, brilliant, abundance of blooms and flowers!

ENCAUSTIC is a Greek word meaning “to heat or burn in” (enkaustikos). Encaustic consists of natural bees wax and dammar resin (crystallized tree sap). I use R&F wax medium, as well as their pigment wax blocks and pigment sticks. Using a selection of brushes, carving tool and a heated stylus, I “paint” with the hot wax.

All my encaustics are painted onto high quality birch panels and are ready to be hung as is with natural wood sides exposed. You may also frame them. Treat an encaustic painting as you would any fine art. Use care hanging, transporting or storing a painting. Consistent Temperature – Hang and store at normal room temperatures. Avoid direct sunlight, freezing and extremely hot temperatures; wax will melt at 150°F / 65°C.
